Le Siciliane beach towel

The Queen with prickly pears. Like us Sicilians, prickly on the outside and sweet on the inside.

This Sicilian is the illustrated version of a photo by Raffaele Rinaldi from the series “Fruit Beauty”, taken in Palermo around 2012. The prickly pear blades and the fruits were taken on Monte Pellegrino, at the foot of which is the city of Palermo. To avoid pricking the model, the inside of the blades was covered with tape. The photo is based on the traditional Sicilian Moor’s heads.
